Always exercise your own good judgment when selecting a director.  When meeting with a spiritual director feel free to directly ask your director about their qualifications, including: 1) their training and educational background; 2) credentials and certification (if applicable); 3) theological or faith perspective; primary spiritual influences.  You and your director should also have a frank and up-front discussion about fees and frame, etc.
